The Wiracocha - The 8th Chakra
What is the Wiracocha?
Wira = Sared/Cocha = Source
Sacred Source
Together we will open the Wiracocha before every passing of any of the Rites.
The Wiracocha is often referred to as the "Sacred Source" or the "Great Spirit" in Inka cosmology. Unlike the lower seven chakras, which are related to the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of our existence, the Wiracocha is our connection to the divine realm. It resides about 12 to 18 inches above the head and serves as the energetic field where we access our highest self, connect with the divine, and step into the realm of spirit.
In shamanic practice, the Wiracocha is seen as the halo of light that surrounds us, representing our direct link to Creator. It is through this chakra that we tap into universal consciousness and recognize that we are not just human beings having a spiritual experience, but spiritual beings having a human experience.
When the Wiracocha is opened, it allows for the flow of healing energy, divine guidance, and wisdom to enter our lives. It is the source of creation, our highest state of consciousness, and through it, we can access our full potential as luminous beings.
The Teaching of the Wiracocha
In the teachings I’ve passed on, the Wiracocha represents the culmination of our spiritual evolution. The process of opening and activating this chakra is a journey that connects us deeply with the cosmos and the earth, recognizing that we are bridges between heaven and earth. When we open the Wiracocha, we awaken to the truth that we are part of something much greater than ourselves.
The teachings emphasize that this sacred source is not just something we passively connect with but is a living presence that we can activate, direct, and expand. Opening the Wiracocha allows us to move beyond the limits of ego and step into a state of oneness with all creation. Through this practice, we can bring the transformative power of the universe into our own lives and the lives of others.
How to Open the Wiracocha
Opening the Wiracocha is a powerful ancient practice that requires deep intent, reverence, and connection to spirit. The following is a basic guide to opening the Wiracocha, as taught in the Inka tradition and passed on to me and now you!
Set Your Sacred Space: Before opening the Wiracocha, it is essential to create a sacred space. Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. You can cleanse the space using sage, palo santo, or another form of energetic clearing. As you prepare, set your intention to connect with the divine and your highest self.
Connect with the Earth and Sky: Sit in a comfortable position and ground yourself by connecting to Pachamama, Mother Earth. Visualize roots extending from your body into the earth, anchoring you. Then, turn your attention upward to the sky, connecting with the stars and the heavens.
Visualize the Light of the Wiracocha: Close your eyes and visualize a golden disk of light above your head. This is the Wiracocha, your connection to the divine. See this light glowing brightly, spinning, and expanding. This disk holds the energy of creation, your highest self, and infinite potential.
Pull the Light Down into Your Heart: Slowly, with intention, begin to pull the golden light of the Wiracocha down through your crown and into your heart center. Feel the warmth and divine energy filling your heart, igniting your connection to spirit and the universe.
Expand the Light Around You: As the golden light fills your heart, begin to expand it outward. Visualize the light creating a luminous sphere around your body, extending in all directions. This is your energetic field, infused with the power of the Wiracocha. Feel this light protecting, nourishing, and empowering you.
Affirm Your Connection to Spirit: As you sit in this expanded state, affirm your connection to the divine. You can use a simple affirmation such as, “I am one with the Source of all Creation. I am a luminous being of light.” Breathe deeply, allowing this connection to deepen with every breath.
Bring the Energy into the Present: After spending time in this meditative state, visualize the golden light of the Wiracocha returning to the space above your head. Know that you can open this sacred source whenever you need guidance, healing, or inspiration. Slowly bring yourself back to the present, feeling grounded and connected.
The Power of the Wiracocha in Healing and Transformation
When we open the Wiracocha, we are stepping into our role as healers and co-creators with the universe. The energy from this chakra is deeply transformative, allowing us to clear limiting beliefs, release trauma, and step into a life of greater purpose and alignment with spirit.
The Wiracocha is also essential in energetic healing practices. When working with others, we can open our Wiracocha to serve as a channel for divine healing energy. This light can flow through us, offering deep spiritual, emotional, and even physical healing to those we work with. It is important to approach this work with humility and a deep respect for the sacredness of the practice.
Walking with the Wiracocha
Once you have learned to open and work with the Wiracocha, the practice becomes a way of life. You begin to walk with the awareness that you are always connected to the divine, and that this connection offers guidance, healing, and wisdom in every moment. By consistently working with the Wiracocha, you deepen your relationship with spirit and step into your true power as a luminous being of light.
the Wiracocha is not just a chakra or an energy center—it is the embodiment of our divine potential. By opening this sacred source, we are reminded of our infinite nature and our connection to all that is. The practice of opening the Wiracocha is a journey of healing, transformation, and awakening to our highest self.
